Interesting one OFG. I have always wondered, why some of the soldiers are not buried in their home countries. I have found few US soldiers buried in Canada too.
Could not find anything on this guy. Checked find a grave, and googled. I wonder where his family is from.

I am and all because of a story my Grandfather told me over 20 years ago about his Great-Grandfather.

I asked my brotherinlaw, about this stone. His reply to the lettering was this.
"As I understand it, the LPF stands for the Lutheran Peace Fellowship and works with the veterans affairs, perhaps in the case of vets whose families were unable to afford the cost of burial."

It was fun looking up this soldiers story and easy too with the online genealogy databases that I access. Carl, so glad you found out what LPF stands for too. I couldn't figure that out.
