i wish i knew what it was about RR stuff that pulls at me so much....i just love it!

first thing i noticed after the train was the waviness of the curved track. i've never seen it so pronounced.

The track unevenness is greatly exaggerated by my telephoto lens. It really in not nearly so bad as it looks here. That bit of trackage gets a great deal of freight traffic. It is the North entry to the very busy BNSF yard at Haslet TX.

I know what you mean JM. I have been a train fan from birth. I still have an "O" gauge 'American Flier' model of the "Burlington Zephyr" that my Dad bought when I was about 3 years old. This would be in the late 1930's! It is on a shelf above my head as I type this. And a Lionel Freight set from when I was about 12 years old. It is on that shelf also.
I guess trains and boys just naturally go together!:D

The lower train in the picture is a painted brass HO gauge set.

that is so awesome.
my Dad had a HO gauge complete with lights and smoke. wish it was still around. one day i'll have a train set again.
