Yesterday, my wife, Nathan and I met Antartican downtown to take in the 2006 Aboriginal Festival in Toronto. It was a great afternoon and very educational.

It was a great day. Thanks Jeanne for seeing if we wanted to go. Nathan never did ask you if you were the Penguin Queen did he? :)

Although it's an awesome sight to see so many natives in their tribal outfits, it's a tough place to take good pictures (indoor, with many people close together, and advertisements in the background. Plus, the dancers move very fast so pics are blurry). You did a good job with these!! I'm still trying to make my pics a little more presentable.
It was great to meet Berni and Nathan. I'm glad Nathan enjoyed himself so much: he really got into it, and didn't get bored quickly as I'd feared he might. He's a great kid, and very photogenic (love the pic of him with the hat on). But no, he didn't ask if I was the Penguin Queen...
I love that picture of the little guy looking at the LCD. From my angle, I couldn't even see his face (or even my camera controls) because every time he leaned in to look, the feathers on his headdress were in my face. Him coming over like that was one of several highlights of the day for me.

2006 Aboriginal Festival? Is that the true name of it?
Here they call them Native American Pow Wows.
Awesome set of shots. I really enjoy the movements and the color which you have captured.

I like the set! Great colors. I'm starting to get really jealous of all these meet-ups! We need more membership in Salt Lake!

Fine shooting Eric, the colors and angles are terrific. I can see, and as Anty had mentioned the difficult shooting conditions yet you were still able to capture it so well. Looks like a swell time. I agree with chopperlinc, its tough being stranded, viewing your pictures, Antartican's, Ray's and Chiller's photo's when you all get together makes me wish I was still in T.O.

Yes, it's called the 'Canadian Aboriginal Festival'. The numbers they wear for the dance competition do say 'Pow Wow' on them though. I'm not sure why the terminology is different...I do know that the Canadian Inuit are part of this festival, could that be why?
