Like Raymond, I have found shooting really difficult recently with the weather and work. Today I took the new lens to work with me and on my travels I searched desperately for something good to shoot but found nothing so I decided to do some target practice on some Pigeons. I’m very pleased with the focus tracking on the lens. These are pretty good crops from the originals and I’m pleased with the results, even these guys I could not get close to. Can’t wait to shoot some good stuff but with the predicted weather the next few days it will not be happening.

NIce shots. I know what you kean about both the coming weather and not being able to find a good better subjects. I was hoping for something more then a duck on my shoot but that is all there was. Nice work. 1250 is a great speed.

"I feel your pain". The weather has been abysmal.

Good detail on the pigeon shots... "fire when you see the red of their eyes."

The third shot is stellar!

The last one ... well ... I can hear a whole conversation going on with them! And the one on the far left, turned backwards ... he's the James Dean of the bunch ... a Rebel Without A Clue!!

Nice work, there, Mouth, I mean, Airic ... ;)

Cool shots! I love how the focus is dead on the head and body of the birds.

Eric, you must be desperate to photo pigeons

reminds me of myself back in January when I got an itchy shutter finger and ended up at Heathrow shooting airliners *shudders* roll on the next years airshow season

Its all I could find flying to test the tracking focus.

looks like fun to me! I am glad you are getting some good results with the tracking on this lens.. looks like good detail, but really hard to judge on the web.

Might go to owen sound this weekend., I have a friend of a friend who knows the wildlife well up there.

Lokks good to me - getting more envious. love the way pidgeons and starlings always seem to measure out their personal space so exactly along a wire.
