The Ely display this evening just beat the rain - Hate to think what it all cost!
At least I could nip in for a coffee and puff of the old pipe.

About 2.5miles away. Sigma 2.8 70-200 with 2x converter. F3.5 mostly and exposures 8th to 10th sec. Strong wind didn't help!

Gee, for 2.5 miles away, that's pretty darn good!!

(Did you PS around the higher tower? The left edge looks a bit odd)

Taken earlier and a 12 pic composite - this is a quick posting as I thawed out. The cathedral is a fairly long exposure to get the outline of the building in the sodium glare from street lights - only the octagon is floodlit and this burns out so a second version converted with less exposure was overlaid and the cathedral painted through. You can hardly the tower with the naked eye at night. Must abed as reading ist of 39 fallen in the two world wars and laying the wreath at 11am at the village memorial tomorrow.
