used a red filter and high contrast for this. im not real happy with the weeds at the bottom....they're a little blown for my taste.
thanks for looking :)

Jon,
I absolutely love everything about this image...I especially like the bright fence against the dark skies...and the framing is wonderful, especially the drop shadow.

I think it's a wonderful shot, for all the reasons Andrew said.

I really enjoy everything about this...and strangely enough, the weeds seem to fit perfectly with everything else...pulling me in...

No reason to worry about the weeds. It only shows to your own super-critical eyes that they MIGHT be blown (which I don't think they are, mind!) ... the overall photo is too good for any of the viewers to even go that far down to see the weeds (which are not blown, mind again!). The sky and texture of this fence are just too well seen, framed, exposed --- the PICTURE IS TOO GOOD. Full-stop (or "Period!" for those who don't understand British English :p )

Love that old fence and IMHO the weeds kinda add to the rustic, unattended look of it, and the other fence and the farmhouse are both very much in focus as well!! Nicely done JM!! : )

The picture to me captures the isolation/lonelyness and poverty of farm life. The lone house on the horizon and fence in disrepair enforces this sense of mood as well as the dark fields and sky. This picture really struck an emotional chord with me, which is what a great picture should do. You have a knack of picking these out...Bravo!

And let me guess, this was taken from the hip, without even checking your settings right? You suck, dude!
Great shot, but you already knew that :)
