Well, to solve the riddle: she was taking a close-up of the Quadriga on top of Brandenburg Gate in Berlin ;)
After 24 years of not having been to Berlin, I was there twice this year, 10 weeks apart, first while we were on holidays as a family in August, and again on a group trip by coach for just one weekend in October. This photo was taken in October. The photo of Sanssouci Castle (in another forum) was taken in August, though I also took photos in that same park (and of the castle) in October.

I agree - nice DOF - the photo looks very 3D. How fun to be able to travel... perhaps someday you can make it back to the states :D

Ah man if you would have held out a little longer, believe it or not I would have guessed it. I immediatly remembered the picture on a Bach CD I have. Johann Sebastian Bach's "Brandenburg Concertos" of course;)
Good picture, someone really ought to tell her it's a very bad habit to take picures using the LCD screen. Good eye for catching this scene and also through her display.
