Remember, remember the fifth of November. Gunpowder, treason and plot!

Guy Forkes Night - the season of fireworks here that seems to last for weeks!

The view of Ely Cathedral last year from my garden about 2miles away. This year the display is on the 11th!

I thought I would come in with a bang for my first post here!

Yes, you definitely did start with a bang! Beautiful shot! Nice exposure on the fireworks and I love the composition. The tiny cathedral with the giant fireworks - perfect!

The individual bursts were captures at f5.6 400asa and 1/5sec - the floodlit Octagon about 1sec exposure and all assembled on to the Cathedral shot by rough selection of a firework and sizing and adding as a layer over the black sky in "lighten" mode. This saves having to try and select carefully and have odd edges.
Go and try and have fun - at least I can nip indoors for a coffee during a lull!

Great shot! I see no reason why gunpowder treason
should ever be forgot.
