i like the stark look to this one and crispness of the palm really makes it pop.

here's an edit: i cropped the bottom a bit, relocated the gull and cloned out the vertical thing in the sea. just my.02.

I like JM's edits, but I'm just wondering what it would look like if you squeeze the bird in closer and crop some of the stuff on the right...make the tree more centered? I don't know...now that I'm typing this, I'm thinking that it might be good the way it is.

Either way, I really like it, and I don't think you should get rid of it.

Well, my first impression also was that the bottom needs a bit of a crop .... but "relocate the gull" ... wow. That is something I would never have thought of doing, more so since I don't even know how it is done!

I like both images but I must admit I like the compo of JM's edit a little better - the bird kinda fills in the space.
