I shot this from my truck window using my Nikon D200 and a 500mm Sigma lens using a monopod to stabilize the camera while shooting at 1/800 sec. I wish it was a hair clearer but at 500mm and on a mono pod on the seat of my car, what more can you ask for?

It's funny how he picks up the green from the reeds!

Scott, I love the framing on this, how you caught the reflection as well.
Great job!

Wow. A 500mm lens!
Coolest.
But it is a bit on the bright side, on my monitor it is. I believe it could do with a slight level adjustment, mostly so of the shadows.

Amazing capture, given the cir***stances...way to go.
Edit: Ooooh, that's funny (^^^) how the word gets edited!

Nice. Is this with the 50-500 Sigma? Picking one up at the end of the week.

Yes, the 50-500. AKA The Sigma Bigma. It's the digital version so it has the extra coating. I think they came out with an even newer version of the lens now, I bought this about a year ago.

Lovely picture again - grass -trees and reeds certainly give a green cast to the light that you only notice when you see an image either on film or sensor.
I wonder if Antartican is allowed assignation without being edited. Our lady vicar as described as "in***bant" got severely dealt with the other day!
