Took this shot from my boat while on the troll for some monster stripers further down south in the bay. I shot this with my Nikon D200 using a 200mm telephoto lens with VR on to compensate for my boats movement.

The tilt of this light is unique. During the winter of 1976-7 large ice flows, some piling up on the flats to heights of 40 feet, pushed against the tower and tipped it to the south at about a 15 degree angle.

I've never seen a floating lighthouse like that! Is it ever neat!

It's not floating. It's sitting in about 30 feet of water, Iron and concrete all the way to the bottom.

Oops, I missed the second part of your initial post, that explained the tilt.

Scott, I think I've seen this before, and I still love it...the colors are great and it's got some kind of a majestic something to it...

Wow... that's a lot of blue. Love the contrast of the rust from the lighthouse with the blue all around.
