Looking for some feedback on this one. Sicily likes it, and has been waiting for me to post it.
I'm not sure how I feel about it? Maybe it's a preference thing...some will like it, some won't?

I like it... (oh and btw, you should always agree with the woman :secret:)
Seriously, the branches seem to be reaching from the sand, trying to find something to quench it's thirst. There's a sense of despair and longing in the photo... the tones are very nice and my eyes keep focussing on the white in the center - making me feel desolate.
Looking back at it... those center branches look kinda like a skeletal bug - still giving me the same feeling I described above.
I like this one alot!!

The one thing I don't like about is that it's NOT my photo.
I love it! The tones are great and the trees look like something that would grab you and pull you in and to disagree with your wife. Your living on the edge man.
Really good shot.

Another vote for LOVE IT!!
It's very other-worldly ... very sci-fi ... I keep waiting for a creature to pop up ...
Sicily has a great eye!

Well, who am I to disagree the coven, nasty things could happen otherwise:)
I am not sure what you dislike about this picture? The dead trees rising from sand gives the picture a mood that would work in the darkside quite well. I would love to know how you lit the scene getting an even tone at such a far distance or is it wide angle makeing it appear to be such a long distance to the hill. I very much like this picture.

i'd be interested in knowing what leaves you feeling undecided.
i think it's a splendid image with good tones, a neat pattern, and highlights. the only thing that keeps me wondering is the dark pile of branches that run out of the image. i don't wanna say they should be removed completely because they do add. it's just something about them that keeps me on the fence...and i can't figure out what it is.
on the left it looks like a bug and it's friend ran through. :)
again, please share your thoughts on it.

I know better than to argue with a woman. At least within arms length (or when she can cast a spell)
This one was shot with the IR cam at 17mm. The sun kept busting through the clouds leaving some really cool patterns and shadows on the sand. Then I added a slight vignette around the bottom corners to help balance it out.
I think what JM touched on is what bugs me the most. The clump of trees going out of the frame. I tried it from further away, but liked it even less. Just out of frame was one clump of bushes that were still alive, and they just really looked out of place.
I really liked the shadow created from the branch in the middle, but thought if would have been better from a higher pov. But...when I got up higher, it changed the rest of the shot.
So, that's why I was undecided. Thanks a lot for the feedback and comments!!!

I think Jon has hit the nail on the head, try cropping the left hand side. I also think there may be another picture in there by a crop on the right. Even so a Great image. Ernie
