This headstone is very difficult to read but it is the grave site of three babies. Died in 1872, 73, and 74. Very sad and I have never seen one like this.

The next one is also very interesting. It is the gravesite of a set of twins. The twin on the left died at three days old and his brother on the right died at 91 years old.

Nothing to beat a good graveyard. I like the term "relic of" describing a worn out wife.

Both are very unusual. Neat finds! Is that a dog on top of the first one?

Cemeteries are definitely interesting. We have some out here dating back to the 1600's. You have some great finds there. The bottom one is so interesting.

It's a lamb on top. Very common on the old headstones of children.

I agree it would be a lamb which were used often on stones for infants and children under 10 years old. As a family historian, I've often seen multiple infant/children names on older stones (1700-1800's). Sad when you see it!

That is very cool! Love the idea of the reunited twins!

These are excellent sir. especially knowing the stories behind them. I wonder what caused the deaths of the 3 babies?
We have a cemetery here, that has a "childrens" section. There is one part where a lot of children passed away during one year. I think it was 1952. Must go back and grab the dates, but it seemed like some sort of epidemic at the time.
