This is the oldest State House west of the Mississippi.

That is really cool. Sounds wierd, but the first thing I thought of was Interview with a Vampire! LOL
Lisa, these are beautiful. The South had some really beautiful homes and buildings. I would love to just see what I could find still standing and capture them with my camera! Love to find some old plantations if there are any left that weren't burned to the ground during the Civil War! TFS! :yahoo:

There are still plenty that have been kept up in Louisiana and Mississippi. Rosedown (has a beautiful garden too), The Myrtles, and Oak Alley are three I went to in Louisiana as a child. They are a sight to behold inside and out! You should check them out.
