Built between 1816 and 1828, this was the 1st permanent courthouse for Izard County in Arkansas Territory (two decades before Arkansas became a state). It is also the oldest public structure in Arkansas. The upper level over the dogtrot (open breezeway) was the courtroom and the rooms downstairs served as the county clerks office and post office. After the county seat moved to another town in 1835, it became his home. Restoration was completed in 1999.

Another cabin on the property...that I personally like just as well!

Very serene. I especially like the 3rd one. Hard to catch a house looking longingly, but that image captures that.

Very lovely - love the contrast between the colors and the snow in these shots.

The ex-courthouse and cabin are wonderful and rustic looking.

Great Set! Looks cold there! Looks like there hasn't been a fire in those chimneys for awhile.
Thanks for sharing these
Michael.
