What a shame, such a grand building with beautiful architecture rotting away. :(

Thanks everyone. I have always had a fascination with this place.

No, I'd love to though. My son did a couple of years ago...of course, breaking the firecode law that is posted on the place. He got some really good shots of the inside.

I found a guy on Flickr, (Noel Kerns http://www.flickr.com/photos/nkerns/sets/72157604246613706/) that has some GREAT photos of the inside as a result of spending about 9 hours in this place at night. He even explains the lighting he used. It is well worth the browse through his photostream.

That would be an expensive one to fix up. Thanks for posting the link because it does have some history to it.

I saw somewhere that it was for sale for 2.2 million but I have a feeling it would take about 200 million to fix it up!

2.2 Million? Only Jon M could afford that.

Hey, it would make an awesome photo studio for about 40 photographers.

I have always had a fascination with the Baker in Mineral Wells. My parents went there for a weekend years and years and years ago! I love old buildings with grace and history and this one has both! It hurts to see it rotting away uncared for. Maybe the spirits haunting it will manage to keep it from being torn down! :yahoo:

Wow what a fascinating place...the link was great...it is such a shame to see it go to ruins.

Very clean images. I like the second the best. I think it has a lot of character with the broken window and all.
